Four Thirty-five AM (or) My Cat.

There is really no sane reason that I should be up.

A few moments ago I was lying in bed listening to my hubby breathing deeply as he slept and I swear I even heard my cat snoring at the foot of my bed... It was so cute. Of course, being the curious creature that she is, she's noticed that I'm up and followed me upstairs. She's now sitting behind me on the other computer chairs. Here's one thing that I love about cats: they like to be near you. They don't have to be right in your face, but they like to hang out just out of reach. It's very soothing. Lately, Sapphira has been visiting my daughter right when she goes to bed to get some pets and my daughter loves that; I think it's because when a cat goes to you for attention, it makes one feel important, because .everyone knows that they don't just choose any old person.

I have to get up at six thirty. I really dispise when this happens.

The last email that I got from my mom was written at one thirty in the morning... Trust me, she doesn't stay up that late.

I wonder if I've slept terribly because of my double strong Earl Grey Tea that I had at five o'clock this afternoon. Hummmm! I wonder!! What was I thinking?? Well, I'll tell you what... I was not thinking. I didn't think. I did not think for a moment that I'd be up typing on this machine, wide awake in Canada.

I found a cool site today on the net: www.kevinthom.com , it's a photographer that's based out of Toronto or Hamilton or something like that. Anyway, he has some nice photographs. I have one called Erica Kicks as my desktop.

Oh My How I want to sleep!

Even my cat is sleeping right behind me! She never has this problem, this sleeplessness. She never has to worry, "I can't sleep and I have to get up for so early to go outside and prowl the yard! How will I have enough energy to make it through?" Nope. A cat never has that to worry about. Eating constantly - that's her biggets concern... ensuring that I'm keeping her well-fed - now that, she's vigilant about, but being well-rested? Not a care in the world! Being cute and fuzzy? Not a problem.

Gosh. I really need to sleep.

Not sleepy yet.

Though there is this internal core of weariness in me. Not that it equates actual sleep. REM would be so nice right now.

Hello Jedi Academy! (That's a computer game. I had to clarify, because I'm probably the only mom who plays those boyish games... and loves them!)

From Bad to Worse

Life is teaching me to let go, to move on
Life is teaching me to have grace and understanding
Life is testing my abilities, my character
Life is trying my patience, pushing my buttons

You're pushing my buttons,
You're trying my patience,
You're testing my character,
You're teaching me that I don't have the grace or understanding
To let go, to move on...

Don't ditch me
Don't cheat me
Don't use me
Don't lie to me
Don't manipulate me

A Message

I was reading in a magazine about one of my favorite bands this morning... You may have heard of them - Coldplay? Anyway, one of their songs off the new album was inspired by a hymn... Crazy hey? So I thought that I'd post the lyrics of both songs... The old hymn gives a neat context to the new hit.

My Song is Love Unknown
"Old Hymn"

My song is love unknown,
My Savior’s love to me;
Love to the loveless shown,
That they might lovely be.
O who am I, that for my sake
My Lord should take, frail flesh and die?

He came from His blest throne
Salvation to bestow;
But men made strange, and none
The longed for Christ would know:
But O! my Friend, my Friend indeed,
Who at my need His life did spend.

Sometimes they strew His way,
And His sweet praises sing;
Resounding all the day
Hosannas to their King:
Then “Crucify!” is all their breath,
And for His death they thirst and cry.

Why, what hath my Lord done?
What makes this rage and spite?
He made the lame to run,
He gave the blind their sight,
Sweet injuries! Yet they at these
Themselves displease, and ’gainst Him rise.

They rise and needs will have
My dear Lord made away;
A murderer they saved,
The Prince of life they slay,
Yet cheerful He to suffering goes,
That He His foes from thence might free.

In life, no house, no home
My Lord on earth might have;
In death no friendly tomb
But what a stranger gave.
What may I say? Heav’n was His home;
But mine the tomb wherein He lay.

Here might I stay and sing,
No story so divine;
Never was love, dear King!
Never was grief like Thine.
This is my Friend, in Whose sweet praise
I all my days could gladly spend.

A Message
Coldplay

my song is love
love to the loveless shown
and it goes up
you don't have to be alone

your heavy heart
is made of stone
and it's so hard to see you clearly
you don't have to be on your own
you don't have to be on your own

and i'm not gonna take it back
and i'm not gonna say i don't mean that
you're the target that i'm aiming at
and i get that message home

my song is love
my song is love unknown
and i'm on fire for you clearly
you don't have to be alone
you don't have to be on your own

and i'm not gonna take it back
and i'm not gonna say i don't mean that
you're the target that i'm aiming at
and i'm nothing on my own
got to get that message home

and i'm not gonna stand and wait
not gonna leave it until it's much too late
on a platform i'm gonna stand and say
that i'm nothing on my own
and i love you, please come home

my song is love, is love unknown
and i've got to get that message home
