Autumn's in Kamloops visiting my parents for a few days. I can't believe how much you miss them! She was still in the driveway, the car backing out and I already felt the pangs of missing her. I love her so much, it aches.
While she's gone Ken and I get to feel what it feels like when you have no kids. All this extra time. You don't have to be home at a certain time. It's weird. I wouldn't trade that for having a child in a million years!
While she's gone we figure that we might as well go see a movie. We went to see Batman Begins last night. It was fun! Batman is so cool. And Christian Bale is quite a hotty! This is my favorite joke from the movie. Alfred sees Bruce trapped under some debris in a burning building and says, "What's the use of all those push-ups if you can't even lift a log??"
Okay, something in the vicinity of my computer really wreaks! Ewww... Stinky.
I just spent the last couple of hours packing my daughter's toy and all of our family's books. Who knew we had so many books? But I don't really like to get rid of any... even if they are heavy and take up a lot of space, or I've read them before. I like books. There's a big, hidden world in each one of them.
Apparently we are going to be able to move into the new place before school starts. Wouldn't that be this weekend?? It doesn't feel like that possible. I've lived in this crap hole for over three years. I never thought that it would feel like home when we first moved in. I hated this house. I cried the first evening. The house wreaked of cat piss. It was disgusting. It took the cake for the grossed house I'd ever lived in. I hope that it continues to hold that title until the day I die. I'd never want to live in anything more run down. (God-willing... OH Please oh please, God!!! *begging on bended knees*)
I wrote this at work today... It is probably total sheight, so don't bother commenting... It's more for my records than anything...
Here goes:
She smokes her last cigarette for the hundredth time - at least
Just add that to the list of failures she's made herself throughout her short life
She says goodbye to him , and guys like him, for the last time - at least
That's what she's promised her friends
Despair and disgrace could be her call-words, her eulogy
And with the ink still wet,
She says goodbye for the last time
No turning back this time
No, this time she's burning
Burning out her life
This time she'll keep her word - at least
But it will be the last thing she ever says
A wee bit dark, don't you think?

Movie Quotes (I stole this)
GUESS WHICH MOVIE!
1. "My name is Inigo Montero. You killed my father. Prepare to die." The movie?
2. "Whoever said orange is the new pink is seriously disturbed." The movie?
3. "Am I not turtley enough for the turtle club. Turtle turtle." The movie?
4. "Why would you want to marry me anyhow?" "So I can kiss you anytime I want." The movie?
5. "Is this corn hand-shucked?" The movie?
6. "Tina, you fat lard..." The movie?
7. "...I became bulimic." "Whoa. You can read minds?" The movie?
8. "That's a great dress." "Because I have these incredible boobs to fill it out!" The movie?
9. "...instead I get off of the table looking like freakin Shrek!" The movie?
10. "Is that my voice? Is that MY voice? Oh well...I win!" The movie?
11. "It's a race!" The movie?
12. "He can call me flower if he wants to!" The movie?
13. "Man, I had some strong gases eeking out of my butt that day!" The movie?
14. "Nobody likes a Mr. Sniffles." The movie?
15. "I'll be back." The movie?
16. "It's not vengance. It's punishment." The movie?
17. "Dosey doe. Dosey doe. Dosey doe." The movie?
18. "You saved my...shoe." The movie?
19. "So you're saying there's a chance." The movie?
20. "Josey grossey. Josey grossey..." The movie?
21. "And you, sir, are supposed to be charming." "And we are supposed to live happily ever after." "Says who?" "You know, I don't know." The movie?
22. "I once knew a man who had a wooden leg named Tom." "What was the name of his other leg?" The movie?
23. "AHHHH!! I look like the crypt keeper!" The movie?
24. "Practically perfect in every way." The movie?
25. "You can call me Mr. Jones." The movie?
Tie Breaker:"Basic Principles - no woman wakes up saying "I hope I don't get swept off my feet today!" Now, she might say "This is a really bad time for me," or something like "I just need some space," or my personal favorite "I'm really into my career right now." You believe that? Neither does she. You know why? 'Cause she's lying to you, that's why. You understand me? Lying! It's not a bad time for her. She doesn't need any space. And she may be into her career, but what she's really saying is "Uh, get away from me now," or possibly "Try harder, stupid," but which one is it? 60% of all human communication is nonverbal, body language; 30% is your tone, so that means 90% of what you're saying ain't coming out of your mouth. Of course she's going to lie to you! She's a nice person! She doesn't want to hurt your feelings! What else she going to say? She doesn't even know you... yet. Luckily, the fact is that just like the rest of us, even a beautiful woman doesn't know what she wants until she sees it, and that's where I come in. My job is to open her eyes. Basic Principles - no matter what, no matter when, no matter who... any man has a chance to sweep any woman off her feet; he just needs the right broom." The movie?

What I want to know is...
Why am I up at 1:30am when I have to get up in a couple of hours to lead worship??
My stomach feels all bloated. I ate hours ago, six o'clock-ish, and it feels like all of the food is still in there not digesting. I was sleeping. I feel asleep at around 10:30, but then I woke up at ten to one and haven't slept since.
I've been so hot at night for the last number of weeks. I have only slept straight through the night one time in the last number of weeks. I'm normally a good sleeper and this feels like agony. I can't believe the things that you think about in the middle of the night. And, I've been waking up at the same time many of those nights - 4:32am. Why? Why does this happen? How is it possible to awake at the same time so many times that you actually notice a pattern?! ARGH! Makes me want to scream.
I just killed a little bug that was fluttering around my screen. Poor little guy... What did he ever do to deserve that? Oh well, his life cycle was probably only snuffed out by a day or so.
So I'm moving to a new house. I know that I didn't mention that on here yet. But most of you know anyway. We took my parents by to peer in the windows. I watered my red and yellow flowers that the neighbour planted in the front beds. They are so simple, but the colour they bring really makes the house have street appeal.
Ken and I were at a BBQ yesterday at his bosses' house. In their backyard they have one of those huge trampolines. The mistress of the house mentioned that they were going to replace it for next year. Not letting an opportunity pass me by, I asked her if they were going to sell it. "No, do you want it?" she said. "Heck YEAH!" I replied. Three kids, big fenced backyard at the new house, free tramp... Heck Yeah! That was so cool because just a couple of weeks ago Autumn decided that she was going to start saving her piggy bank money for a tramp (which I had to tell her was way too expensive for her to be reasonably saving for). Thank you, God for hearing a little girl's request for something so extravagant!
Thinking about that, a line from a Live song comes to mind. "We deal in dreams." I wish I could dream right now.
Hummm... It's now almost two and I am no more tired than when I started this post, with the exception that my eyes are burning a little from looking at the screen. Only four and a half hours until I have to wake up. Bullock! (Is that a bad word? I don't really know what it means.) My stomach doesn't feel any better, BTW.
I think that I'm going to play Sims for a while. Bad idea, but what can you do when you can't sleep?

Whoa... Where'd that come from?
Sometimes I wonder if I'm not in touch with my emotions.
Sometimes I wonder if I need to get a life.
Sometimes I wonder if my life would bore everyone else to death.
Sometimes I think that the stories that I'd like to tell on my blog would sound like something you'd read in a gossip magazine, so I feel guilty and can't bear to prostitute those poor people for a couple of comments that would make me feel popular for a few seconds.
Sometimes I feel trapped.
Sometimes I feel melancholy... like right now.
Sometimes I feel like the luckiest person alive.
Sometimes I can't spell worth a damn.
Sometimes I'm inhibited by what other people might be thinking about me and I lose my confidence.
Sometimes I feel like life it passing me by.
Sometimes I feel like I am living out my dreams.
Sometimes I feel like I will never obtain my heart's desires.
Sometimes I feel like God is very far away. I talk to Him but I'm not sure He's there. And here I pause. There is something in that that shouldn't be ignored. I love the idea of God. But the reality might just be something that I've never encountered.
Sometimes I am full of doubt.
Sometimes I am full of faith.
I believe when it comes right down to it. To what? To It... right Down to the very Bottom of It. At the bottom I still believe.
Even when I lack confidence.
Even when I'm boring.
Even when I'm living my dreams.
Even when I'm not.
Even when life is passing me by.
I believe even when I Feel like God is far and my destiny won't be realized.
I believe even when I'm melancholy, full of doubt.
At this bottom, I still believe.

On Some Weekdays We Go Blogging Out... (LOL - Clarkster)
So I found out yesterday by mail that I did not get that job. There were 'no positions available' for me at this time but, hey! they'll keep my resume on file for the next six months. Oh well. Though it's a hard to get rejected from a job, I think that overall I'm pretty unaffected. I guess that it wasn't 'the Lord's will.' On a sort of up note - Ron, that's my boss from the coffee shop, took me with him to deliver a catering order to a big call center and I got to see what the atmosphere was like first hand. It was very sterile. Lots of cubicles. Can anyone see me working in that environment? I probably could do the job, but it is unlikely to have brought me anymore happiness than the moment that I would get my paycheck on a bimonthly basis. Thems the facts - like it or not. So for now, I'll stick to my low-paying, benifit-less, people-oriented, task-varied, thinking-for-myself job. May the Lord bringing me my next job in due season!
Peace Out.

On Summer Days We Go Swimming Out
Listening to my little sweetie singing in the shower... "Rise and shine and give God the glory, glory, children of the Lord!" So cute.
I've surprised her the last two days by taking her to the outdoor swimming pool near our house. It's been nice to splish splash together, enjoying this hot sunny weather. She cannot get enough of the pool and I can't get brown fast enough. This tan has got to last until next summer!
This summer is going by way too fast. One more month and it's back to school. I'm not looking forward to the end of summer - it's just way too short.
I had a over-the-phone job interview today. It's for a company that takes orders from Americans for pharmaceuticals. I don't do a very good interview and to make matters worse, it came unexpectedly this morning. No time to metally prepare. I guess the advantage is on their side. I was probably way too honest in the interview, but I figure that if I get this job it's because God wants me to have it. If I don't get it I am very happy to stay at the coffee shop - I still enjoy it there. The stuff that I was probably "too honest" about were the things like why I want to work there - 'um, the benefits! it's better for my family financially.' Or which hours I am available - ' 9am to 2pm weekdays - I have a daughter.' Or what do I see as my greatest weakness ' well... I get frazzled when all the pressure is on me and nobody is helping me out.' But hey, like I said, either I get the job and it was the Lord's will or I don't and it wasn't. I'm not sweatin' it.

Busy, Busy Weekend
On Friday Ken and I went out for lunch downtown and then we spent the evening with some super-cool, awesome friends eating spaghetti and drinking sangria, having a really good time.
On Saturday our household went to the Celebration of Lights. It was so cool. I have never seen fireworks that are so spectacular. They were even worth the hour and twenty minutes that we were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic downtown... I think. Though next time we'll be takin' the skytrain. No dooot abooot it.
We played two gigs this weekend. One for the BC Cancer Society in Cates Park and one for Agrifair in Abbotsford.
Cates Park in North Van is a nice little park with a small sandy, secluded beach. It was a nice place to spend the afternoon.
Autumn got to go on her first fair rides. She was a hoot to watch. At one point she wanted to go into the haunted house. I took her over there and on the way she was saying how it didn't look scary. In my head I was surprised that she wanted to go at all. We got to the door, showed the lady our wrist bands, Autumn headed in first, she jumped out of her skin, turned around and started to cry, "I didn't think that it was going to be scary like that!" So that was the end of our haunted house experience. I didn't even get my foot in the door. LOL
Ken took a couple of days off of work to stretch out our long weekend. It sure is nice to wake up on Monday morning and know that neither of us has to go to work.
The day is ours for the taking! What shall we do?
