Mermaid Dreams

My little artist! Autumn's latest drawing... She told me today that she had a dream in which she became a mermaid. She had red hair, purple shells and green fins - she looked exactly like Arial. The dreams that kid has are so cute! Posted by Hello

"... and the winner is..."

Autumn won a colouring contest at school on St. Paddy's Day with this! The prize was a box of Smarties and she couldn't have been happier.  Posted by Hello

Camera Happy

So... we are having fun with our new digital camera. I think that we are quite literally Camera Happy. The cat has never before felt like the starlet that she has now become. I think that she's getting temporary flash blindness. See?

Girl Wonder

I stumbled on this blog a few months ago, put it in my favourites and never went back until today. I thought that it wouldn't be as funny as I remember it being, but it's actually funnier! Check it out... and I'll add it to my favourites.

If you go, read the one titled, "Grocery shopping (and proof that I’m an A-Hole)…"

Clarkie (as well as others), I think that you'll apprectiate her sense of humour.

The Best Compliment I Have Ever Received!

On Saturday night when I was putting my little girl to bed she requested a song. Silent Night, actually - the Christmas carol. (I guess that she doesn't realize that some of these songs are seasonal! Ha ha.) I obliged (like the amazing mother I am... after a bit of whinning about wanting to go watch a movie) and when I finished singing 6 verses she said, "Mom, I'm glad that you're not Elasta-Girl, 'cause you have a pretty voice."

This from the same kid that said at two, "Mommy, please don't sing." At the time, I have to admit that hurt a bit. (Does complete devistation count as "hurt feelings"?) I mean, if you can't please a two year old, who can you please? I thought that my career was over... and it hadn't even began!

So I can tell you that I'm happy at this turn of events. I feel reassured... I'm no Super Hero, but at least now, my singing career has been reassessed and (at this time) approved by my (almost) seven year old.
