We've had a housefull this weekend - it's been fun. Chad and O'Christie have been here since Saturday evening and we've had a really good time hangin' out and visiting with them.

(My cat is desprately trying to take over my lap right now. I don't know if she thinks that if she makes me uncomfortable enough that I'll leave and she'll get the chair or if she just wants pets)

I think that I am going to join the gym again today. It always seems like something that we can't afford and yet can we afford to neglect our physical health? It's something that I always see to sturggle with. It's the monthly payments that I bulk at not the actual activity, though at times that can be hard too.

We found out that Autumn will be in morning classes in kindergarten come September. It's going to be so exciting for her! My only down side is that I will not be able to attend Breathe (our women's group) on Wednesdays. BOO HOO! ::SOB:: But it sure is going to be an exciting year for her.

::Abrupt end::

::Sigh of relief::
It is Saturday. I am making hashbrowns and Ken is off getting McPiddles, as we like to call them. Coffee is brewing and all is well in the world of ... (insert my last name here... cause you're not supposed to say it online right? But come to think of it, don't famous people everywhere use there names?)
Speaking of famous people.... Bono, poor guy, has been getting death threats for a while now. It's because of his cancel third world debt work and especially for is work in South Africa. Hard core hey? He could totally be a martyr, weird. And that would spell the end of my beloved U2. I really hope that doesn't happen. I have to admit that I have said a prayer for Bono's safety. I don't want him to die!! If I feel that way, imagine how his wife and kids feel. Now my happy world doesn't feel so happy anymore. Oh well. That's real life.

I got a hair cut. Isn't that the coolest thing ever? Okay, okay so it's not. I do have bangs though for the first time in forever. Oh , oh I forgot to tell you that for the first time ever I was given flowers and candy!! It was so cool. Ken and Autumn brought home Smarties and orange roses for me outta the blue on Monday. How cool is that? Come on now, you have to admit that that is cool!
For breakfast I am eating a left over caramel sudae from McRonchies and a coffee... breakfast of champions around the world, I'm sure. Just phone 'em up and ask. (I'm crossing my finger and hoping that you don't get through.) Try Tiger Woods first, then Micheal Jordan... they told me that this is what they eat for breakfast all the time!
I found out last night that The Dan is leaving our couch as of Sunday. Hurray! My couch told me that he is quite happy about this and doesn't think that he'll miss having his own personal Dan at all. ::cq::
Just getting down to the lump of caramel at the bottom of the sundae cup.... mmmmmm. SSssssssweeet! ::sip o' coffee:: ahhhh, nothing like a strong bitter cup o' coffee to wash away the excess sweetness. Now to do it all over again.... ::gobble:: sweet! ::sip:: aaahhhh
Are you still there?? or have you done something else with your valuable time?
... more later...

I am so blessed. How "Christianese" that sounds, hey? But really it's true. This last year has been so great. I've been so healed. I've learned to enoy life again and just being alive is pretty good! That's all due to God and FLV. There are some amazing people there (seven more now then there used to be if you include the Ushers and Budzaks!!). Each person that I've connected with has poured out healing and encouragement to me in their own way. God bless them!

Our household has decided to have it's own Bible study night or 'home group', if you will, on Monday evenings. Tonight was the second one. It feels so good to connect with friends on a spiritual level and deliberately invite God to hang out with and teach us. I think that it helps me to realize that I am learning from God and to solidify what it is that He is working on.

There are a couple things right now: contentment and love. (There probably are a lot of other things going on too, but you can't expect me to be that bright!) A book that is helping me reform my love life is A Love Worth Giving by Max Lucado. I recommend it! And any others of his. (While I have your attention... Do you have my copy of A Divine Romance by Gene Edwards??? If you do, could you bring it back to me... I really like that book.)

Good night, All.

I am learning to play hacky-sack. It's fun. Even Ken is getting into the action... which is surprising... but he's actually got a natural affinity for the game.

I felt like when I started this blog I had so much to say, but now I feel really dry. I read Clarkie's and she seems to have endless commentaries about the world in general. She must think really deep thoughts all of the time! ::wink, wink::

The one thing that has occured to me of late is Materialism. We are in one of the lowest income brackets in our province, which really equals 'poor in comparison to everyone else'. Yet I look around our house at the amount of cds, videos, couches, dishes, musical equipment (some of which is borrowed, mind you, and the rest of which is really broken down, entry level gear) and everything else that makes a West Coast Canandian's life go around and I can't help but think, "WE are poor??" It really seems absurd! I have to admit that I feel really ripped off if I can't go out for lunch on Sundays or can't afford the little extras such as cds and going for coffee. I look at myself and think that it's amazing how much I 'need' to feel normal. It's the mentality that "Our friends can afford it, so why can't we?" that just gets us further in debt. It would probably shock me to find out how much a human being really needs in order to live a happy life. And on that note, the things that we actually need are mostly things that we cannot buy- love, affection, friendship and all-around goodness.

I want to be content with what I have, and I think that some days I do a lot better than others.

I just spent the last three days at a conference at my church. Graham Cook spoke. It was pretty good... but heavy too.

Do you miss me?
My computer was down for a few days.
I've been reading lately.
And playing computer games.
I think that I need to get out of the house more.
I think that I am literally going nuts.
Send me an email if you are free to hang out. (Don't wait until I'm in a looney bin to send me a card!)
I am willing to go for coffee or even a walk.
That totally sounded like a singles ad! HA HA!
Good night, sweet chillins.

I took my song Psalm 151 to that song panel I mentioned a couple of posts ago. It was a good experience... of course. Overall they liked my song, but had a few small suggestions that could improve the way it's received by others. That's cool. I definitely thought that they were valid. They said that it was youthful and anthemic... and that is apparently a good thing.
I was so nervous. I took Ken with me for support... but I don't think that I was the only one who did that. Another lady sat at the table with us, she was scheduled to play her song at the next session but came to be a part of the process. She knew how nervous I was so she was telling me to go as one of the first presenters to get it over with. (I was the only female, the rest were guys.) I went third. The funny thing is that Psalm 151 is a very simple song, but the guy before me had the most words that I've ever seen in his song. What a contrast! He prefaced his song by saying that he wanted to get away from the over simplification that happens in a lot of other songs. My song is the epitome of simple... lol!
And I have to admit that the evening wrapped up for me extremely well when I was on my way to the restroom and Andy reiterated to me that he like my song and said that he really liked my voice. YAY! What a compliment! (This is where Ken rolls his eyes and says, "Yeah! I've told you that a million times but you don't believe me!" Whatever... you know how it's different when someone doesn't know you or love you and has no attachment to you?)
Anyway... that was the highlight of my week.

I just want to write a disclaimer on this... I just tried to answer honestly. I didn't try to be her!! Ummmm... Hello? Strong? Beautiful? I epitomize the ultimate heroine? I read somewhere that someone thought that Trinity looked confused a lot of the time. I think that more adaquately discribes me.

You are Trinity-
You are Trinity, from "The Matrix."
Strong, beautiful- you epitomize the ultimate
heroine.
