I must be addicted to workahol!
I feel like I've been working a lot lately. For all of you who work full-time - I envy the cashola but not the work thing. You probably think that what I work is a mere pittance!
Gotta go...

Check-up
How do you like my new look, my precious readers?
One thing that I have noticed is my archives and the other stuff on my side bar is like that dissappearing ink. You have to run your mouse over it in order to see it.
Is is like this for any of you?

Breathe...
In, out.
This is my first full day off with nothing but housework to do. And do you think that I'm doing it? NO.
I'm on here. Chatting to friends. Writing to you, my dear reader.
I just had a thought. (oh shut up... I know you thought it) Nevermind. The fact that I had a thought and then thought about how you'd think, "Oh wow. Only ONE?" Made me miss the Thought Train.
I wrote on Memoirs - just in case anyone is interested.
I went to the gym today. The first time in twenty-seven years. Oh wait a minute, that's not true! Wow I feel better already - I've gone way more than once in twenty-seven years. I'm a natural born athlete!
I am going to be so sore tomorrow, let me tell you!
Say something interesting on my comments... that's an order, Private!

I just made potato salad.
I just made potato salad. I sure like home-made potato salad as opposed to the store bought stuff. I really can live without the chemical taste. Hard to believe, I know!
I don't think that anything weird happened at work today. That's pretty amazing considering.
Anyone remember Spree candy? It came in the silver pack with colourful writing. Spree was one of my favorites as a kid. I ask because I'm eating some right now.
Did I tell you that our apple tree fell down on Sunday morning? Friday evening Miriam mentioned to me that we should prune our tree back from the front door. I said that for the most part we do, but that I couldn't believe that the tree had grown so much. I mentioned that conversation to Ken on Saturday night as we pulled into our drive way and yes, he agreed that it had grown a lot lately. Sunday morning we awoke to a tree tipped over in our front yard! It had gently tipped over without a sound! We were really glad that we didn't realize what was happening or we wouldn't have slept a wink that night. It came very close to the house and our car.
We are all very sad to see the end of our lovely apple tree. "Jose, there will be no apples this year!" *sob*

The "Be Attitudes"
I was reading the "Be Attitudes" in the Message yesterday and they blew my mind. So I wanted to share them with you. Perhaps they'll blow your mind as well!
"You're blessed when you're at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.
"You're blessed when your feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.
"You're blessed when you're content with just who you are - no more, no less. That's the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can't be bought.
"You're blessed when you've worked up a good appetite for God. He's food and drink in the best meal you'll ever eat.
"You're blessed when you care. At the moment of being 'care-full', you find yourselves cared for.
"You're blessed when you get your inside world - your mind and heart - put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.
"You're blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That's when you discover who you really are, and your place in God's family.
"You're blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God's kingdom."
There were other things in the 'Sermon on the Mount' that are especially poignant when read in the Message. Phrases such as, "The simple moral fact is that words kill." really fell heavily upon me. As it should.
No more time to write. Got to get on with my day!

A Really Good Excuse
I haven't written much lately, but this time I have a really good excuse - I promise! I got another job. It's only temporary so it will only last for three weeks at the outside. I'm doing targeted revision for the upcoming federal election. I go door to door registering voters that are not 'on the list.' It's not that interesting however the pay is pretty good and I'm working with a friend.
Still working hard on the CD as well. Last night I was at the studio until 3am! Ken was expecting me home a lot earlier so in his worried state he drove the twenty minute drive to Langely to make sure that we weren't in a car accident or something. Let's just say that Shelter was going really well.
I was supposed to go to the studio again tonight, but I started getting a cold and well... That's not good for recording vocals.
BTW, the CD is coming along famously!!! John's a great engineer and producer. We are, or should I say, I am not-so-secrectly hoping that he is our "Daniel Lanois" (producer for U2's The Joshua Tree and other great albums).
"I'M LIVIN'THE DREAM!" as Neil would say.
Anything interesting going on for you??
